Cody Jace Hutchins was a bright light in the lives of everyone who knew him. A senior at Pawnee High School, Cody was deeply involved in his community — from FFA and FBLA to football and the clay target team. He had a passion for the outdoors, a gift for working with his hands, and a natural ability to make others feel welcome. Whether he was operating heavy wreckers at Superior Towing, running the combine on his Papa’s farm, or hauling cattle with his dad and brother, Cody found joy in hard work, family, and faith. His trademark grin, easy laugh, and big heart followed him everywhere he went.
The Cody Hutchins Opportunity Fund was established to honor Cody’s legacy by supporting the things he loved most — agriculture, shooting sports, hunting, and hands-on learning. This fund helps create opportunities for young people to grow, explore, and build confidence, just as Cody did. Through scholarships, outreach, and events like the annual clay target tournament, the fund continues to reflect Cody’s spirit of generosity, grit, and joy.
